I was 8 years old when my family moved to our new house in Hialeah. The year was 1966. As a kid I looked forward to going to the races at Hialeah Speedway. When I got punished and could not go I would still open my bedroom window and could hear the roar from the race track. Boy do I miss those days and this track!

I'm searching for a driver during that time #15 / #46 Don Christy or Cristy. If you or your family may have more information that may lead me to him, it would be greatly appreciated. I don't have much to go on other than he raced, especially at Hialeah late models in the 1970's. Florida racing memories has photos of him posted but has no contact information for him. He lived in Miami in the 1970's at some point later ended up in NC or SC. When he was racing at Hialeah one time another driver got loose and slid down, Don T boned him and the driver died. I have the article if that helps I can get more details. Thank you, Missy richardnmissy@bellsouth.net

It sucks that they took the track away. Some of my best childhood memories are from the track with my dad and brother

it sucks that they removed it. this is why people take the racing to the streets. no tracks left in the city!
